Dialogue Theory was founded in 2014 by two brothers - a designer with ten years of digital strategy experience and a creative technologist with a linguistics background - who saw an opportunity to bring an uncommonly interwoven set of capabilities to organizations looking to level up their impact.

Big stories that need to be told simply and beautifully. Hard problems with hidden throughlines. Complex user experience and technology needs. Diverse audiences with sometimes competing objectives. These are the things we get excited about because behind them is often an organization doing good in the world.

DT clients include organizations that are directly responsible for the development of one-fifth of the United States’ renewable energy capacity, for expanding the US voting base by nearly one million people, and for providing free home visiting support to nearly sixty-seven thousand families of young children. They include Fortune 50 companies leading on sustainability and equity, and growing companies solving new environmental and social challenges.

We're building a team without borders.

Talent knows no bounds. We're bringing unique individuals who can bridge the gap between art and science together to help our clients succeed ... across nine cities and counting.

Our philosophy

Our approach is shaped by five key principles:

1

We are people working with people.

Differences should be celebrated, and dogma should never replace love. We strive to respect - and learn from - our clients, our partners, and each other.

2

We believe in choosing sides and getting off the fence.

If what we're building doesn't make the world a better place, we might as well not build it.

3

The best experiences demand a thoughtful, present approach.

The effort that goes into our work highlights the effort that goes into yours.

4

Positive impact is born out of research and close collaboration.

Great design is crystallized by a relentless pursuit of excellence. We have a zero-tolerance policy for mediocrity in our work.

5

Design is an organic, iterative process.

New ideas and changes in direction are opportunities to sharpen a story, not roadblocks to completing it.

"The work of Dialogue Theory has been groundbreaking in Puerto Rico. Their solutions have prompted unprecedent engagement with various segments of the population, particularly with low income communities and have been praised by the federal and state government, local stakeholders and thousands of users that use our citizen tools every day."
