John Oquist Cardenas
A self-taught multidisciplinary visual artist, John establishes our art direction and brings clarity and focus to the stories our clients tell.
A creative technologist with a background in motion design, 3D animation, audiovisualization, and virtual reality, John founded Dialogue Theory with his brother Chris in 2012.
His thesis while at the University of Michigan, an exploration of the use of visual propaganda in Latin American revolutions during the early 20th century, confirmed his interest in producing visually compelling, explanatory graphics that can communicate complex issues with ease.
John speaks internationally on data visualization - most recently with the United States Department of State’s TechCamp public diplomacy program in Peru and Nepal - and has won awards for his work with the NASA Space Apps Challenge and Emily's List, as well as a WeWork Incubator Award.
John lives in Chicago, IL. His personal artwork can be seen on Instagram or Dribbble.
